It’s easily the biggest goal of Madison Kadrlik’s life. With 36 seconds remaining in regulation, she sent Farmington back to the Girls’ State Hockey Tournament for a third straight year with a 3-2 win over Lakeville South in Section 1AA’s championship game on Friday night

It was an evenly matched game as the teams each scored twice in the second period. Both teams also had 23 shots on goal in the game.
Farmington got on the scoreboard first thanks to Jayden Seifert on the power play to make it 1-0 Farmington in the second period.
Lakeville South wasted no time scoring their first and second goals 25 seconds apart thanks to Claire Enright and Ryann Wright.

Farmington’s Sam Moehle scored the equalizer 51 seconds later, which sent the game into the third period tied 2-2.
The few fans allowed into Schmitz-Maki Ice Arena got an exciting ending. Farmington sophomore Madison Kadrlik weaved through traffic and found a crack underneath Lakeville South’s Lauren Sorvari pads with 36 seconds remaining, which proved to be the difference as the Tigers punched their ticket to state with a 3-2 win.
The two squads had split the last six Section 1AA titles, but Farmington edges ahead 4-3 over the last seven years with this year’s title.
