Waite Park man arrested after pointing gun at group of young adults
A 44-year-old man was arrested on Monday after pointing a gun and verbally confronting a group of young adults.
According to the Waite Park Police Department, at 9:09 p.m., officers responded to 300 block of Park Meadows Drive on a gun complaint.
Once officers arrived at the scene, they determined that a group of young adults was outside playing with plastic orange-colored toy guns that shoot a soft, air-filled projectile.
Police said the young adults were creating a TikTok video and, while they were playing, the spouse of the suspect was struck in the shoulder with one of the projectiles after going outside to see what was going on.
The projectile didn’t cause any injuries, police said.
The suspect — identified as 44-year-old Christopher Lembcke — had a verbal encounter with the young adults in which, during the encounter, he pointed a real gun at them. Lembcke was arrested and transported to the Stearns County Jail on second-degree assault charges.
No one was injured from the incident and no additional charges are anticipated in the matter.
