2 children, 1 adult taken to hospital after fire in northeast Minneapolis

Three people were taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a fire at a northeast Minneapolis home.

According to a release from the fire department, firefighters were called just before 3:15 p.m. to a home on the 300 block of 20th Avenue Northeast on the report of a fire.

When firefighters arrived, they found smoke showing from the home.

Firefighters learned two children were still inside of the home. Both children were found by firefighters and were carried out of the home.

Crews were able to successfully extinguish the fire.

The two children and an adult were taken to an area hospital for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
