COVID-19 in Wisconsin: 21 new deaths, 1,129 new cases over past 2 days

Wisconsin health officials on Wednesday reported 21 new deaths related to COVID-19, keeping the state’s total at 6,597 deaths since the pandemic began.
Additionally, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) reported 128 new hospitalizations, moving the total number of hospitalizations during the pandemic to 27,254.
A total of 573,899 positive cases of COVID-19 have now been confirmed in Wisconsin, with 1,129 new cases reported Wednesday.
The numbers reflect the new number of cases, hospitalizations and deaths over the past two days after DHS reported an issue that prevented it from reporting numbers on Tuesday.

As of Wednesday, DHS reports that more than 3.26 million people have been tested in the state.
The state’s seven-day average positivity rate by test is at 2.5%.
DHS said the state has been allocated 2,679,245 vaccine doses so far. Of those, 2,442,810 had been administered as of Wednesday, and 893,146 people had completed the two-shot vaccine series.
