Hennepin County Attorney’s Office receives grant in efforts to reduce auto theft
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced on Friday that the Minnesota Department of Commerce gave the office a grant to help launch an effort to reduce auto thefts.
The attorney’s office said the centerpiece of the campaign is a video produced by Minneapolis company, Picture Machine, Inc. It highlights steps car owners can take to prevent thefts from their vehicles and thefts of their vehicles. The video also was translated into Spanish and Somali.

"In the coming weeks, our office will produce and publish a series of multilingual social media posts with preventative tips to help people avoid becoming victims of auto thefts. In addition, we will include measures in which can be taken to avoid catalytic converter thefts and carjackings. This content will be featured on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter platforms," the attorney’s office said.
