Woman assaulted at Lakeville park; public asked to use caution in area
Police are asking the public to be on alert after a man assaulted a woman Saturday in a Lakeville park.
According to the Lakeville Police Department, the attack happened around 11 a.m. in a wooded area of East Lake Community Park. The suspect lured the victim, a woman in her 40s, into the area by telling her he needed help with someone who had fallen.
The woman was able to get free from the attacker and ran to get assistance. She was taken to Ridges Hospital to be treated for her injuries.
The suspect was described as a man with a black stocking cap and a black COVID-style face mask and was wearing sunglasses, a black jacket and black leather gloves.
Anyone with information that could lead police to the suspect is asked to contact Detective Scott Frame at 952-224-6732 or sframe@lakevillemn.gov.
Until the suspect has been identified, police ask residents to use caution when using East Lake Community Park and urge people not to go alone.
