Over 1M Minnesotans have completed COVID-19 vaccine series

More than 1 million Minnesotans have now completed the COVID-19 vaccination process.
Gov. Tim Walz announced the milestone Tuesday.
"Each person vaccinated moves us one step closer to getting back to normal," Walz in a statement. "One million Minnesotans completing the vaccine process is a remarkable milestone on the day all Minnesotans age 16 and older can get in line. Now, we’re ready to make sure everyone can get the relief from a life-saving shot so we can get back to all the things and people we’ve missed, and end this pandemic together."

The news comes on the day vaccine eligibility expanded to all Minnesotans 16 years of age and older.
Walz’s office said more than 70,000 vaccines were administered on Saturday and Sunday, the highest two days on record thus far. The state is averaging more than 44,000 vaccinations per day, the state said.
More than 1.6 million Minnesotans have received at least one vaccine dose, including 81% of Minnesotans 65 years of age and older, according to the state’s vaccine dashboard. The state’s one-millionth vaccination was administered last month.
