3 in custody, officer hospitalized after incident on W Broadway Avenue in Crystal

Three people are in custody and a police officer is hospitalized after an incident in Crystal Thursday afternoon.
According to a tweet from the Crystal Police Department, W Broadway Avenue between Bass Lake Road and 57th Avenue will be closed for an indefinite period of time due to a "major crash."
In a release, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety said three suspects were taken into custody and a Crystal police officer is hospitalized after a Minnesota State Patrol pursuit.
A State Patrol trooper attempted to stop a vehicle that was speeding just after 1 p.m. at I-694 and Highway 169. The driver fled the attempted stop, DPS said.
The suspect vehicle was boxed in by squad cars near 57th Avenue and W Broadway Avenue in Crystal. As police were attempting to take the suspects into custody, the vehicle attempted to flee again.
As the vehicle attempted to flee, it struck and ran over a Crystal officer in addition to damaging several police vehicles, DPS said. The officer was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
One officer fired at the suspect vehicle after it struck the officer. The officer who fired their weapon has been put on standard administrative leave, according to DPS.
Three people in the suspect vehicle were taken into custody. One was 18-years-old and two were juveniles.
Police are asking the public to avoid the area for the time being.
