People showed support Sunday in Roseville for residents who have been targeted by what police are calling "bias-motivated crimes."
A group against racism marched down County Road B passing Anita MacDonald’s home.
Over the last month, a Black Lives Matter sign at MacDonald’s home has repeatedly been spray painted, destroyed or stolen. Three times someone left a dead raccoon by the sign, and one was nailed to a nearby telephone pole.
Roseville police ask for public’s help with bias-motivated crimes
"I was really disturbed and shocked," Anita MacDonald said. "I didn’t think something like that would happen here,"
Many of those in the march left flowers by the BLM sign.
"We’re not just going to let this pass," march organizer Huda Yusuf said. "It sends a message to the bigots and the haters in town that the community is stronger than that. We’re going to get together, and what unities us is greater than what divides us."
Roseville police say they need the public’s help in finding two people who allegedly stole the signs. They’re also looking for the people who left the dead raccoons in the yards. Anyone with more information is asked to contact Roseville Police at 651-792-7008.
