Wisconsin governor’s personal assistant dies in tubing accident

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers on Monday announced his 25-year-old personal assistant tragically died over the weekend.

Evers said Ben Belzer was killed in a tubing accident. No other details were immediately provided.

"Kathy and I and my team are stunned by the loss of Ben this past weekend. It’s unimaginable that he’s gone," Evers said.

"We are devastated by Ben’s death, and our thoughts and prayers are with Ben’s family and friends as we all mourn the loss of an exceptional young man who was taken from us far, far too soon," Evers added.

Belzer joined the governor’s office in February 2019.
