Authorities recover body from Lake Minnetonka, believed to be missing swimmer

Monday, authorities recovered a body from Lake Minnetonka that is believed to be that of a swimmer that went missing Thursday.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office said the body was found at about 1 p.m. in approximately 55 feet of water.

The man went missing Thursday night after jumping into the water to help a struggling swimmer.

The identity of the victim and cause of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
