1 killed, 1 injured after head-on crash in Steele County
One person died and another was taken to a hospital after a head-on crash Thursday afternoon in Steele County.
The Steele County Sheriff’s Office said law enforcement and paramedics were called to the 3600 block of Lemond Road at about 2:55 p.m. on a report of a two-vehicle crash.
When they arrived at the scene, authorities found two vehicles with extensive damage and one person in each vehicle.
The driver of one vehicle was extricated from the vehicle, and lifesaving measures were performed. However, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a hospital by ambulance.
A preliminary investigation indicates one vehicle was northbound and the other was southbound when they collided head-on.
No other details were immediately available.
