Motorcyclist killed in crash in Stearns County
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving another vehicle in Stearns County Friday afternoon.
According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were called just after 3:45 p.m. on the report of a crash involving a motorcycle at the intersection of County Road 7 and County Road 44 in St. Augusta.
The sheriff’s office said 16-year-old Emma Scherbing, of Foley, was driving a 2010 Nissan Altima southbound on County Road 7 and made a left-hand turn to go onto County Road 44. When Scherbing turned, 59-year-old Michael Brannan, of Sauk Rapids, was driving his motorcycle and failed to stop in time, striking the Nissan Altima.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
