Over the years, big-name entertainers and amateur talent contest winners have taken the stage at the Minnesota State Fair.
This year, the Grandstand will remain dark with the fair canceled because of the pandemic.
Ten-year-old Dani Scofield played the piano at the Minnesota State Fair last year after winning a talent contest.
"At the Grandstand, there were thousands of people," Scofield said. "I could just feel the energy of the audience. It was really really fun."
Scofield was scheduled to perform at the fair again this year.
"I was kind of disappointed that I couldn’t perform again this year."
Over the years, Johnny Cash, the Carpenters, Neil Diamond, Sonny and Cher, John Denver, Bob Hope and Kenny Rogers, among others have graced the stage at the Minnesota State Fair.
