Minnesota health officials provided the latest COVID-19 update Wednesday afternoon.
Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Commissioner Jan Malcolm and Infectious Disease Division Director Kris Ehresmann updated the latest situation in the state.
MDH said Wednesday that all people who’ve attended a protest, vigil or community cleanup event should get testing for COVID-19 within a week of the event.
The department reminded people that COVID-19 can spread easily and quickly in large groups of people who are close together for long periods of time, and while some people may not have symptoms but can still spread the virus to others.
If you start to feel sick, MDH urges you to get tested right away. Even if you don’t feel sick, MDH urges you to get tested as soon as you can, but no later than five to seven days after the event. If the test is negative and you are worried you might have been exposed, get another test 12 to 14 days after the event, even if you don’t feel sick.
As of Wednesday, 25,870 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the state with 1,086 confirmed deaths.
MDH reports 372 new cases of COVID-19, 14 more deaths
