St. Paul City Council unanimously bans conversion therapy for minors

Wednesday evening, St. Paul became the third city in Minnesota to ban conversion therapy for minors.

St. Paul City Council voted 7-0 during Wednesday's meeting to approve the ban.

Earlier in the day, advocates of the ban spoke in support of the measure and urged the state legislature to approve a ban covering all of Minnesota.

Justices rule LGBT people protected from job discrimination

The move comes just two days after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled a key provision of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 known as Title VII that bars job discrimination because of sex, among other reasons, encompasses bias against LGBTQ+ workers.

Minneapolis and Duluth both banned conversion therapy for minors last year.
