VIDEO: Minneapolis police investigating suspicious death of young child
Minneapolis police are investigating the suspicious death of a young child Thursday morning.
John Elder, a spokesperson for Minneapolis Police, said officers responded to an unknown trouble call at 2:45 a.m. in the 1600 block of Fourth Street South.
When they arrived, officers found a child less than 5 years old suffering from unknown injuries. Officers started CPR until paramedics arrived and transported the child to a hospital.
Police said the child died at the hospital a short time later.
Two other children were taken into protective custody, according to Elder.
MPD said an investigation into the child's death remains active.
No arrests had been made as of Thursday afternoon.
Police said they weren't able to share additional details due to the age of the children involved.
