1 injured after argument leads to shooting in Cannon Falls

An argument evolved into a shooting in Cannon Falls late Thursday night. 

The Cannon Falls Police Department said at about 11:51 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call of a shooting at a residence. Upon arrival, a 45-year-old Cannon Falls man surrendered and was taken into custody. 

Officers were able to locate a victim who suffered gunshot wounds.  He was transported by ambulance to the hospital with injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening. 

Police learned both men lived at the residence and knew each other. At some point during the interaction, an argument occurred which then led up to the shooting.

The weapon used was recovered at the scene. The results of this investigation will be sent to the Goodhue County Attorney for formal charges.
