2 injured by gunshots in Hawthorne neighborhood of Minneapolis on Saturday
The Minneapolis Police Department responded to a shooting Saturday evening that left two adults with gunshot wounds.
According to police, at 4:42 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 700 block of West Broadway Avenue.
Officers who were on the 800 block of 21st Avenue North were addressing another call when an adult male came to them asking for help and stating that he'd been shot, police said.
An ambulance was called and the victim was transported to North Memorial Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries from gunshot wounds.
While at the hospital, police said an adult female came in with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound from the same incident.
According to police, the victims indicated that a fight broke out and shots were fired, leaving them injured.
No other details were immediately available.
The incident is under investigation. More information is expected to be released at a later time.
