The Twin Cities Pride Parade was canceled this year, but organizers still encouraged people to march for social justice.
Hundreds took part in a march in Minneapolis to support black transgender people and support the Black Lives Matter movement.
The Twin Cities Coalition for Justice held a march through the streets of downtown Minneapolis ending in Loring Park.
Protesters demanded justice for George Floyd and community control of the police
"There's a divide between the community and the police," said Tayo Daniel with the 10K Foundation. "The best way to solve crime is when the community and the police work together, so if there's a divide between the community and police, it's actually a breeding ground for crime. 'How can we bring that trust back?' is the question."
This is the fourth year in a row the Twin Cities Coalition for Justice has called for protests at Twin Cities Pride.
