Sheriff's office: Man arrested after ramming squad car in Chisago County, deputies fire weapons
A 47-year-old man is in custody after authorities say he rammed an occupied law enforcement squad car in Chisago County.
The Chisago County Sheriff's Office said it was called just before 10 a.m. Thursday morning on the report of a fight at a convenience store in Shafer. The caller told police the suspect had assaulted the clerk inside the store before fleeing the area.
Deputies learned the vehicle the suspect fled in was registered to Benjamin Michael Juneau.
The sheriff's office said as deputies were attempting to make contact with Juneau, he left his home in his vehicle and rammed into an occupied squad car.
During the incident, deputies fired three shots, the sheriff's office said.
Juneau was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries he sustained from the collision. He was later released from the hospital and booked in the Chisago County Jail.
