A Dent man died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a deer Sunday night.
According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a reported motorcycle crash in the 27000 block of County Highway 22 at about 9:04 p.m. The caller reported the motorcyclist was unconscious with serious injuries and was lying in the roadway.
The caller said another vehicle then hit the victim while he was on the road.
Lifesaving measures were attempted but 63-year-old Mark Clifford Hanson was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
Authorities said the 53-year-old woman driving the SUV that hit Hanson after he apparently crashed into a deer showed no signs of impairment. Hanson wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time. An autopsy was scheduled.
