Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs to hold virtual Memorial Day events

To avoid large gatherings amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs announced it would hold virtual Memorial Day events.

The virtual program will take the place of the ceremonies that are held at the three state veterans cemeteries, which draw thousands of people.

The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs has partnered with Twin Cities Public Television to create a program that will be broadcast across the state at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 25.

The program will include comments from Gov. Tim Walz, music and a rifle salute.
