Target shares toolkit to help Minnesota businesses with their COVID-19 response plans
Target is planning to share the framework it has developed for its COVID-19 response with the rest of the state, as Minnesota's businesses undertake the process of safely reopening, the company stated Wednesday.
The Minneapolis-based retailer stated it is working with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) as well as state business associations and elected leaders to share the "SAFE retail toolkit" statewide.
According to the company, Target's own virus response measures were used to create the toolkit, which "includes templates and guides for employee health screening, benefits examples and cleaning protocols, as well as social distancing and safe employee measures."
"Target plays many roles in our communities, including retailer, distribution network and employer," Tony Heredia, Target’s vice president of compliance and ethics and corporate security, said in a statement. "By sharing our learnings, we hope to support other businesses, communities and leaders so they can operate in a safe way, considering the health and wellbeing of employees, customers and communities alike."
Last month, Target announced it would be monitoring and limiting the number of people in its stores and also began offering disposable masks and gloves for its employees to wear.
