Woman dies following shooting, crash in Minneapolis
A woman has died after she was struck by gunfire before the vehicle she was in crashed into a tree in Minneapolis on Monday night.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, the victim died at the hospital Friday evening. The identification of the victim is pending.
According to police, on Monday at 11:25 p.m. they responded to a report of a vehicle that had struck a tree near Cedar Avenue S and 38th Street East.
While en route to the scene, officers received information that the scene involved a shooting.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a man and woman were in a vehicle when it was shot at by an unknown person or persons. The bullet struck the female, and the vehicle crashed into a tree.
The suspect(s) fled prior to officer arrival, said police.
The victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, who later died Friday.
