MDH: 481 new COVID-19 cases reported in Minnesota, 20 new deaths
Sunday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported 481 new positive COVID-19 cases and 20 new deaths, pushing the state’s totals to 11,271 cases and 578 deaths.
The department stated, as of Sunday, the state has completed 14,883 tests and private labs have completed 96,205 tests.
Of the total cases, 1,657 have required hospitalization. As of Sunday, 434 were hospitalized, with 199 in intensive care.
According to MDH, 6,882 patients no longer need to be isolated. MDH is now reporting that the number of patients who no longer need isolation represents individuals with confirmed COVID-19 who no longer need to self-isolate, including those who have died.
According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected about 4.0 million people worldwide and killed about 290,000. About 1.3 million people worldwide have recovered as of Sunday.
