COVID-19 in Minnesota: 12,917 cases, 638 deaths

State health officials reported 431 new cases of COVID-19 in Minnesota and 24 more deaths on Wednesday. A total of 12,917 cases and 638 deaths have been confirmed so far.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, state labs have completed 15,584 tests, and private labs have completed 106,451 tests. 

Of the cases, 1,851 total patients have been hospitalized. On Wednesday, 494 patients were in the hospital, and 199 were in intensive care.

So far 8,149 patients have recovered, according to the MDH.

As of Wednesday, according to case data from Johns Hopkins University, total COVID-19 cases in the world have amassed to 4,291,081. Of the total cases, 1,370,460 are in the United States. The data shows 293,157 people have died from the virus in the world and 82,391 have died in the United States.
