No.1 Minnehaha boys hoops dominate No. 1 Waseca

The No. 1 (Class 3A) Minnehaha Redhawks defeated the No. 1 (Class 2A) Waseca Bluejays 94-66, Tuesday evening at Bergstrom Court.

It was 17-16 halfway through the first half, with Waseca matching buckets with Minnehaha. But, Minnehaha would proceed to finish the half on a 30-12 run the final 9:46, capped off by Chet Holmgren, the top high school recruit in the country, hitting a layup before the halftime buzzer to put the Redhawks up 47-28 at the break.

The second half was dominated by Minnehaha as well. Holmgren was scoring at ease, whether it be from the three-point line or inside the paint. Senior Hercy Miller scored 15 points to go along with six rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Freshman Mercy Miller also had a great night. And, senior Isaiah Davis also had a great game. Holmgren led the way for the Redhawks, scoring 29 points to go along with 23 rebounds, seven assists, and six blocks.

Waseca drops to 12-1, while Minnehaha improves to 12-1 on the season.
