UPDATE: Missing 73-year-old Bloomington man found dead

UPDATE: According to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, David Shibata was found dead Friday morning.

Shibata died of apparent hypothermia, according to an autopsy report from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.


Authorities in Bloomington are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 73-year-old man.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension identified the man as David Shibata. Police say he left his residence at about 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Shibata is possibly wearing a red jacket and black pants.

The BCA said Shibata has Alzheimer’s but is normally able to care for himself.
