People are putting down big bucks to live at Highland Bridge in St. Paul.
Home lots are now selling at the former Ford site.
Highland Bridge will include custom homes, senior living, affordable housing, condos, row homes and retail space.
"We have a great deal of acreage here in an existing city," Mya Honeywell, with Coldwell Banker, said. "We have got river frontage. For the Upper Midwest, we just haven’t seen anything like this. It’s a very impressive project."
Twenty home lots went up for sale last month along Mississippi River Boulevard. In the first week, 13 were sold at a cost between $475,000 and $1.1 million.
"We’ve been really excited that a lot of the folks have a St. Paul connection and I think there was a pent up degree of excitement about the project, and so I think there have been several people just kind of waiting for the opportunity to make that reservation."
The first home at Highland Bridge will start going up this summer.
