Police: K-9 injured following Isanti County pursuit ‘doing great’

Friday, authorities provided an update on the K-9 that was injured after a pursuit in Isanti County last month.

Anoka police said many people have been looking for information about K-9 Bravo’s condition and they "are happy to report Bravo is doing great under the circumstances and healing at home with his handler."

The incident happened on Feb. 21 after a carjacking in Blaine led to a pursuit that ended near Braham. When the suspects’ vehicle was disabled, the two suspects got out and began to run away. Shots were fired and K-9 Bravo, along with one of the suspects, were hit by gunfire.

Police later said Bravo had some damage to his trachea and soft tissue from the bullet but surgery wasn’t required.

"We appreciate all the support, get well wishes and gifts we have received for our community!" the department said Friday.
