COVID-19 in Wisconsin: 1 new death, 550 new cases

Friday, Wisconsin health officials announced one new death related to COVID-19, moving the state’s total at 6,525 deaths since the pandemic began.

Additionally, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) reported 44 new hospitalizations, moving the total number of hospitalizations during the pandemic to 26,714.

A total of 568,902 positive cases of COVID-19 have now been confirmed in Wisconsin, with 550 new cases reported Friday.

As of Friday, DHS reports that more than 3.23 million people have been tested in the state.

The state’s seven-day average positivity rate by test is at 2%.

DHS said the state has been allocated 2,140,265 vaccine doses so far. Of those, 1,895,402 had been administered as of Friday, and 667,193 people had completed the two-shot vaccine series.
