2 Minnesotans suspected of contracting coronavirus test negative, health department says

The Minnesota Department of Health said Monday that two Minnesotans who were evaluated for a possible coronavirus infection had negative test results.
Health officials say the immediate risk to the American public is currently low. However, they said the situation is quickly evolving and more cases in the United States are possible.

China on Monday expanded sweeping efforts to contain a viral disease by extending the Lunar New Year holiday to keep the public at home and avoid spreading infection as the death toll rose to 81.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), or confirmed 2019-nCoV infections, reported illnesses have ranged from infected people with little to no symptoms to people being severely ill and dying. Symptoms can include:
- Fever
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
CDC believes at this time that symptoms of 2019-nCoV may appear in as few as 2 days or as long as 14 after exposure. This is based on what has been seen previously as the incubation period of MERS viruses.
The U.S. Department of State on Monday moved the travel advisory for China to Level 3, which recommends travelers reconsider traveling to China. It also moved the advisory to the Hubei province of China to Level 4, which tells travelers to not go to the province.
