Veterans Affairs sending 50 nurses to help Minnesota nursing homes
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is deploying nurses from around the country to help support nursing homes in Minnesota.
According to the VA, 50 nurses will arrive in Minnesota this week and assist with operations at community nursing homes.
It comes after Minnesota requested help amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The state’s nursing homes have been hit particularly hard by the virus, with long-term care facilities accounting for 787 of the state’s 967 COVID-19 deaths as of Thursday.
It’s not clear which nursing homes the nurses will help at.
