With some clinics and doctor offices closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, some parents concerned over access to health care for their children.

Doctor Andrea Singh, a pediatrician at Park Nicollet Clinic, said parents should do what you would normally do at your home if your child is mildly ill.

"You can call the clinic and the clinic will be able to get you a nurse to speak to or they will be able to get you a video or phone visit with your clinician," Dr. Singh said.

If it’s something more serious, Dr. Singh said parents can go online and schedule a video appointment with a doctor.

"We can’t look in your ears if you have a true ear infection unless we are actually there," Dr. Singh said. "I do think it’s important to recognize that there are some patients that are going need to be seen to stay healthy."

Right now, pediatricians are still seeing children under the age of 2, so they get proper shots and vaccinations.
