Ice out declared on Lake Minnetonka
With plenty of warm weather the last few weeks, the spring ice out has been declared on Lake Minnetonka.
According to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, ice out on the lake is the official start of boating season.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were able to navigate a boat through all the lakes, channels and bays Thursday morning without obstruction by ice.
The sheriff’s office noted that the governor’s stay at home order does allow boating, however, there are some restrictions.
Families may be on a boat together even if they aren’t six feet apart, however, tying rafts or boats together would be a violation of the order.
