Minneapolis leaders announce $5 million in gap funding for residents and businesses
Friday, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and the city council announced additional measures to combat the effects of COVID-19.
In a statement, city leaders said roughly $5 million will be dedicated for residents and businesses hit hardest by the virus.

"At the local level, we’re taking steps to make sure that our new programs complement, not duplicate, the work made possible by the new state and federal funding," the statement read, referencing recently-passed legislation.
In addition to the funding, new programming is expected to support renters, families, small businesses and employees who are most affected by the pandemic.
