MDH: 2 new deaths reported Saturday, COVID-19 cases total 865 in Minnesota

Saturday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported there are 76 new cases that have tested positive for COVID-19, creating a total of 865 cases in the state.

Twenty-four total deaths have also been reported.

The department stated, as of Friday, the state has completed 8,738 tests and private labs have completed 16,685 tests.

Of the total, 180 cases have required hospitalization.

According to MDH, 440 patients no longer need to be isolated.

Counties with at least one positive test include: Anoka, Beltrami, Benton, Big Stone, Blue Earth, Brown, Carlton, Carver, Cass, Chisago, Clay, Clearwater, Cottonwood, Crow Wing, Dakota, Dodge, Douglas, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Hennepin, Isanti, Itasca, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Koochiching, Lac qui Parle, Le Sueur, Lincoln, Lyon, Mahnomen, Martin, McLeod, Meeker, Mower, Nicollet, Olmsted, Otter Tail, Polk, Ramsey, Renville, Rice, Scott, Sherburne, Sibley, St. Louis, Stearns, Steele, Traverse, Wabasha, Waseca, Washington, Watonwan, Wilkin, Winona, Wright and Yellow Medicine.

According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected about 1,119,109 people worldwide and killed about 58,955.

More than 226,873 people have recovered so far.

According to the CDC, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report having muscle aches, headache, sore throat, and/or diarrhea.
