MDH: 5 new deaths reported Sunday, COVID-19 cases total 935 in Minnesota

Sunday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported there are 70 new cases that have tested positive for COVID-19, creating a total of 935 cases in the state.

Twenty-nine total deaths have also been reported.

The department stated, as of Sunday, the state has completed 8,846 tests and private labs have completed 17,931 tests.

Of the total, 202 cases have required hospitalization.

According to MDH, 451 patients no longer need to be isolated.

Counties with at least one positive test include: Anoka, Beltrami, Benton, Big Stone, Blue Earth, Brown, Carlton, Carver, Cass, Chisago, Clay, Clearwater, Cottonwood, Crow Wing, Dakota, Dodge, Douglas, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Hennepin, Houston, Isanti, Itasca, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Koochiching, Lac qui Parle, Le Sueur, Lincoln, Lyon, Mahnomen, Martin, McLeod, Meeker, Mower, Nicollet, Olmsted, Otter Tail, Pipestone, Polk, Ramsey, Renville, Rice, Scott, Sherburne, Sibley, St. Louis, Stearns, Steele, Traverse, Wabasha, Waseca, Washington, Watonwan, Wilkin, Winona, Wright and Yellow Medicine.

According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected about 1,204,246 people worldwide and killed about 64,806.

More than 247,340 people have recovered as of Sunday.

According to the CDC, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report having muscle aches, headache, sore throat, and/or diarrhea.
