Pedestrian dead after being hit by car on I-494

One person is dead after being hit by a vehicle in the south metro Saturday night, according to an incident report from Minnesota State Patrol.
Troopers responded to the crash in the area of eastbound I-494 and 34th Avenue in Fort Snelling just before 8:45 p.m.
There, authorities say a man driving a Ford Explorer hit and killed a pedestrian, who was identified as 66-year-old Cynthia Finnell of Bloomington.
The investigation is ongoing and active.
On Tuesday, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office announced Finnell’s death was accidental and was due to multiple blunt force injuries.
