Sheriff's Office: Hennepin County Jail inmate tested positive for COVID-19
Monday, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office reported that an inmate that was brought in over the weekend had tested positive for COVID-19.
The sheriff's office said an inmate was brought into the jail Friday, where it was determined they had symptoms that called for a COVID-19 test.

While awaiting the test results, the inmate was placed in isolation.
The sheriff's office said on Sunday it was learned the inmate tested positive for COVID-19. The person has since been released from custody and has said they would self-isolate at home.
The sheriff's office said they are continuing to monitor anyone who was in contact with the person.
