Patriots’ coaches enter bye week confident Drake Maye can be a franchise quarterback
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Drake Maye’s arrival in New England coincided with a wholesale reset for the Patriots franchise following the departure of coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Mac Jones. In his eight starts since taking the reins from veteran Jacoby Brissett, Maye has provided multiple examples of what the front office saw in taking him third overall in April’s draft. While the Patriots are just 2-6 with him under center, both the coaching staff and his teammates see a quarterback they can build around the remainder of the season and beyond.
