Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board announces new updates to parkway closures
Thursday, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board announced updates to parkway closures that are meant to allow social distancing around the city’s lakes and parks during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a news release from the MPRB, the northbound lane of West Bde Maka Ska between Richfield Road and Lake Street will be closed to vehicles and opened up for pedestrian use by 8 a.m Monday.

The MPRB also announced that Lake Harriet Parkway would reopen to vehicles by 10 a.m. Monday morning. The purpose of reopening the parkway is to allow people with limited physical mobility or compromised immune systems the ability to enjoy the city’s Chain of Lakes by vehicle.
