Juvenile dies at Red Wing Correctional Facility

The Minnesota Department of Corrections is investigating how a juvenile died in custody at the Red Wing Correctional Facility over the weekend.

According to DOC spokesperson Shannon Loehrke, staff found the juvenile unresponsive on Saturday.

Staff attempted first aid, but the juvenile was pronounced dead at the scene.

Loehrke did not give any other details on the juvenile’s age or gender.
