Phillies enter the offseason confident that bulk of roster is good enough to win the World Series

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia Phillies’ season of World Series championship expectations ended with a thud against the New York Mets in the NL Division Series. The Phillies continued to whiff their way down the postseason ladder. There was a 2022 World Series loss, a 2023 NL Championship Series loss and the four-game loss to the Mets in the NLDS. Counting the postseason, the Phillies weren’t even a .500 team over the final 65 games. They still believe in manager Rob Thomson and gave him an extension through 2026. Alec Bohm, Brandon Marsh, Bryson Stott and trade deadline pickups Austin Hays and Carlos Estévez face an intriguing offseason.
