Westbound I-94 reopens near Albertville after 2-vehicle crash leaves at least 1 seriously hurt
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a crash on Interstate 94 near Albertville on Friday that has left two people seriously hurt and temporarily closed part of the interstate.
According to authorities, the head-on crash involved a Chevrolet Equinox going east on I-94 and a Ram Promaster van going west in a construction zone.
Both drivers — a 20-year-old Foley woman and a 39-year-old Blaine man — were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for life-threatening injuries. No one else was inside the vehicles.
A helicopter was spotted landing in the area shortly before 9 a.m. Friday.
The State Patrol said around 9 a.m. that first responders were working to get the westbound lanes back open. Lanes had reopened by 11:15 a.m.
