Driver flown to hospital following crash on I-94 near Monticello
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says a crash on I-94 in the Monticello area caused significant slowdowns on Friday, but cameras on the agency’s website show traffic is flowing freely once again.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the incident is still under investigation but shared some details with 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS on what they currently know.
According to St. Jesse Grabow, the crash happened around 6:10 a.m. when a 20-year-old woman was driving a Ford 500 on Interstate 94 near Monticello.
An incident report states the woman, identified as a 20-year-old from Grandy, was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for injuries that aren’t considered to be life-threatening. However, Sgt. Grabow adds the woman was flown to the hospital.
The Ford then went off the roadway, rolled and ejected the woman, according to the agency’s report. It adds the driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
No word on what led up to the vehicle leaving the road.
