Truck drivers are keeping America moving during the COVID-19 crisis and one Minnesota driver is being recognized by President Donald Trump.
Last week an event at the White House honored truck drivers for their service throughout the pandemic.
Tina Peterson of Blaine spoke about her experiences driving for Federal Express during the crisis.
"It’s actually gotten a lot better since it first hit," Peterson said. "We’ve been getting the thumbs up. People on overpasses waving American flags. It’s really inspiring."
Peterson says visiting the White House and meeting President Trump was a great experience.
"It was amazing, and I thought to myself, ‘I’ve driven through a lot of gates in my career, but I never thought I would be driving through the gate of the White House.’"
President Trump gave Peterson a key to the White House and a necklace for speaking at the event.
