Rain & storms tonight into tomorrow, heavy rainfall at times

Good afternoon! It’s a muggy and warm afternoon across much of the metro, with seasonable highs in the low-80s. Temperatures are dropping back into the 70s as cloud cover fills in this afternoon west to east across the metro.

Scattered showers and isolated storms are possible this afternoon, mainly across western and southern Minnesota. The Twin Cities has the slight chance for spotty late afternoon showers. Scattered storms and rain are likely tonight into the overnight hours.

Isolated strong to severe storms are possible tonight into early tomorrow morning, especially across southwestern and southern Minnesota.

I can’t rule out a few strong storms for the metro, which would be more probably past 8PM and before the Thursday morning commute.

Scattered showers and storms stay in the forecast tomorrow, but this will be off and on, so not a washout. The heaviest rain looks to fall tonight into the overnight hours, with 0.75″ to 1.5″ of rainfall possible for central and southern Minnesota into west-central Wisconsin. Higher totals are locally possible.
