Pleasant Tuesday, rain, storms & muggy weather return tomorrow

Good afternoon! Today is the last day this workweek that we’ll enjoy sunny skies and comfortable humidity levels. Today’s high temperatures are seasonably in the low-80s, and high pressure continues to run the show for us. Scattered storms and spotty showers are again possible this afternoon and evening before sunset across northeastern Minnesota. Severe weather is not expected, and the rain and storms aren’t widespread.

Overnight lows are back in the mid to low-60s for most of central and southern Minnesota, with increasing humidity into Wednesday. As our next storm system develops and tracks northeastward into Minnesota from Nebraska and South Dakota, rain and storms are likely tomorrow during the daytime mainly across southwestern Minnesota.

By tomorrow afternoon and evening, some strong to severe storms are possible across southwestern Minnesota. The Twin Cities could see some scattered afternoon rain showers (increasing chance by late afternoon) with evening and overnight storms.

Heavy rainfall is expected especially across southern Minnesota with 1″ to 2″ possible. The Twin Cities could see about 0.5″ to 1″ of rainfall (higher amounts with any strong storms).

Scattered rain and storms are possible throughout Thursday, but we should grab dry periods as well. Steadier rainfall Thursday looks likely across northern Minnesota.

Humidity ramps up tomorrow and the rest of the week looks muggy.

Have a wonderful day!
